How to build your own Sports car for as little as ?

Welcome to our build diary, let me give you a brief idea of what we aim to achieve. The idea is to build two sports cars, one for me and one for Marcus. The burgundy one, is the first car we have built, it's based on a Ford Escort MKII 1600, and is mine. The second car, Marcus's will also be based on a MKII Escort, with a 1700cc engine.
We are not vastly experienced in building cars, ( we are more experienced now that the first one is complete ) so it should be a very interesting, and educational ( for us, anyway ) experience. As this is a labour of love there is no time limit on the project, does it really matter anyway how long it takes, as long as we achieve our goals ? We will update the site once a month, as we go along. This is my first attempt at building a web site, hopefully it will improve as we go along. Background info........We live in Doncaster, I work for the UK's leading Electrical retailer, and Marcus works as a lab technician at a local firm.
